Looking for a new and memorable experience to take your beautiful date on this summer?  Whether it’s the first date or the thirtieth, Edmonton has an endless supply of locations and activities to check out this summer. Check out our list of Edmonton date night ideas organized by theme below:

Fitness dates are always a blast, especially if it’s a brand new activity for you both. The Surf Studio in south Edmonton offers a unique workout inspired by the sport of surfing. Yes, surfing in Edmonton! You actually use an unstable surfboard to build muscle, strengthen your core, and get in some of that cardio you’ve been hearing so much about. They even have a yoga class on surfboards! What’s great about this date: you get to wear comfy fitness gear and test a bit of your athletic chemistry.

Painting, drawing, calligraphy, and other art lessons are an excellent way to bond with your date over creative musings. There are two great options to check out in YEG when it comes to adult art classes, the first being Paint Nite! Paint Nite is held at a different location every night, from Sherlock Holmes Pub in downtown Edmonton to Soda Jerks in St. Albert, it’s like having two dates in one night. Check out their website to see dates and locations of upcoming Paint Nites. The second option is at the Art Gallery of Alberta. They offer adult drop-in workshops and classes for people wanting to explore their artistic side outside of painting. Click here to find the dates and lessons of the AGA’s upcoming classes.

Once you’ve been to one wine tasting, you’ve been to them all. Try something new with a gourmet chocolate tasting! Channel your inner Charlie with JACEK Chocolate Studio’s ongoing tasting events. You’ll get a chance to witness the intricate process that makes these delicate chocolates and then taste them once they’re done! Their next tasting event is on August 11th, 2016. If the traditional wine and cheese tasting is more your speed, The Cavern offers a delicious board of various meats and cheeses to devour over great conversation and glasses of wine.

Fine Dining

Branches at the Greenland Garden Centre is a patio you have to check out this summer. The restaurant is surrounded by gorgeous landscaping that will feel like a breath of fresh air compared to the busy city scenery. They have an amazing Friday night date deal where it’s just $55 for a two-person meal. With this price you get an appetizer, two house salads, one pizza, one dessert, and two glasses of wine. Their menu offers various choices for each course to accommodate for different tastes. Check out the full menu here! Chef Daniel Costa has also recently opened the newest sister restaurant of Corso 32 and Bar Bricco called Uccellino that offers a laid-back and affordable taste of Central and Southern Italy.

The Needle Vinyl Tavern is a brand new live music venue in downtown Edmonton that also offers a fully functioning restaurant and bar! Another live music location that’s been established in the Edmonton music scene for some time is The Starlite Room. This venue is for simply watching performances, but there’s a bar and grill on the lower level that you can go to before or after the show. The Starlite Room’s website posts all of their upcoming performances way up to November 2016, so you can plan your date far in advance.

Edmonton is known as a festival city because of our jam-packed summer schedule full of festivals, concerts, markets, and more. Literally every weekend there is another event to attend!
